One of my favorite things to do is to create place settings. I love all things china, crystal, silver; and even the casual counterparts of those fancy things. The key to a beautiful place setting is layering. Here’s the formula:
- dinner plate
- accent piece
The other day, we had friends over for a casual supper. We’ve had a break from the summer heat (thank goodness!) and I thought we should sit outside and enjoy it. I wanted to play up al fresco entertaining, so I used a wicker charger and turquoise melamine dinner plate. I needed a bright accent and something with pattern, so I chose this colorful paper napkin with my bamboo flatware over it.
Obviously, I love all things turquoise; hence, why I have a placemat and melamine plate in it. Those woven placemats are functional and so pretty with everything I own! I love how the bamboo and wicker were perfect eating outdoors and that paper napkin really adds color!
I’ll be sharing more tabletops in the future. And lots of them–it’s my favorite!
