My mom came up for a visit this week and took a day trip to our favorite mountain towns — Cashiers and Highlands, NC. You may have seen us on Instagram–we toured some little tiny homes and then had lunch. I got so busy having fun that I forgot to story anything else!
Taking a girls day is one of my favorite things! I absolutely love dressing in something I don’t wear everyday and having a leisurely lunch and indulging in stores and food.
Y’all know me–clothes are a priority. And while I didn’t wear these exact things, I did find some very similar items!
1 // Lilly Pulitzer Poncho // It was gorgeous weather in the mountains, but a little crisp in the morning. This is the perfect top layer and easy to shed when I got warm. I don’t have this exact one, but a very similar one.
2 // Pearl hoops // I was gifted a very similar pair for Christmas and I have been wearing them a lot this spring; the white is the perfect soft, but sweet and subtle way to add to polish to an outfit. And I like that it’s a lot of pearls–more is more, ya’ll! These are great price, too!
3 // Lilly Pulitzer Elsa Top // Again, I don’t have this specific top, but I do have several Elsa tops and they are one of the most versatile article of clothing in my closet. Please don’t pay full price unless you truly need it. I acrued all of mine during Lilly’s sales; usually one at the end of summer and one to start the year.
4 // Time and Tru Jeggings // I have these and love them! They are the perfect thickness and feel like leggings. Having said that, treat them like leggings and cover your bum. I just like my tush covered in white jeans.
5 // Talbots Sandals // I wore wedges that were higher than this but I so want these! I love that low wedge for a teeny bit of height. And the style is kind of like a modern, sophisticated gladiator; can’t go wrong with the clean lines of a sandal like this.
6 // Time and Tru tote // This is my everyday purse, y’all! I have learned my lesson and I need a true tote bag. I’ve also learned my lesson that I am hard on a purse. Even when I spend the money on a very nice name brand, I put it through the ringer and it gets damaged. I have loved this bag! And you can’t go wrong with a soft metallic….or a $10 bag.
Here’s a few of the places we stopped during our day trip:
1 // The Consignment Market in Cashiers, NC. Y’all know I’m always on the hunt for a deal.
2 // The Curated Home in Cashiers, NC. Their style was sophisticated mountain rustic.
3 // Madison’s at Old Edwards Inn in Highlands, NC. Everything was delicious– our pomegranate spritz cocktail, the basil strawberry salad with chicken, and the pavlova dessert. I highly recommend each item! I’ll have to share more about our honeymoon at Old Edwards another time–the absolute best!
4 // The Stone Lantern in Highlands, NC. They have a wonderful selection of jade and coral jewelry and plenty of chinoiserie items.
6 // The Dry Sink in Highlands, NC. A wonderful assortment of kitchen tools–both useful and pretty.
7 // Highlands Country Club. So all we did was ride around and look at beautiful homes. It’s fun to day dream y’all!
Have you been to Highlands or Cashiers? What’s your fave place? Or have a question about the area? I’d love to help if I can!
