3 Home Projects I Want to Tackle in 2025

New Year, New Projects! A new year always inspires me to tackle new projects. It’s a fresh start and a new beginning. Here are three projects I want to start and finish this year.

Shower Curtain in our Master Bathroom

We had our master bathroom wallpapered two years ago. I absolutely love it! At the time, I had suggested we take down the shower doors and install a shower curtain. My husband did not like the idea. Now, two years later, we are finally in agreement. The shower doors are so hard to clean and they just stay grimey, especially along the track and it’s near impossible to get that clean. Because we have a good lip or raised edge around the shower, a curtain will be just fine.

This fabric is the drapes in our bedroom and I thought about making what little I have left into a shower curtain two years ago.

I think this will totally update the bathroom even more. We never did new tile or any other major updates. We’re making this home work as is for as long as possible. Adding a shower curtain will be beautiful without having to do a gut job.

Because the bathroom is small, I want a custom shower curtain that is taller than the usual shower curtain. Also, this is gross but something you have to consider–that curtain will be close to the toilet and I live with boys. We need a good, dark fabric that can hide splash marks. The last time I was at Carolina Fabric, I saw this fabric sample. I think it would look amazing with the green, greek key wallpaper. I’m going to check it out and be sure it a good coordinate, but I’m heavily leaning towards this.

I’m definitely taking inspiration from my parents’ home with their custom shower curtain.

Recovering Club Chairs

Early in December, my husband and I found this amazing pair of club chairs at our local Habitat Restore. Y’all know my favorite furniture is furniture I can customize to make my own! Structurally, these are in excellent condition, and they are unbelievably comfortable.

Because they are so comfortable, my husband wants me to focus on these first. He’s eager to get them done so he can start lounging in them in our living room.

Updating the Hall Bath

Shortly after we moved in, I painted the hall bathroom a bright coral. I love having a fun color in bathrooms. Now that we have a little boy, I want to make the space a little more kid friendly, but also updated and fresh since it’s the bathroom that company uses when we have guests over. I know what I want to do, I just need to find the lights I want, get it painted, paint the mirrors, and get it done, ha! It only takes time, ha. Here’s my design board for what I want to do.

I feel like this isn’t a difficult update, just takes time and we are all limited on that, ha!

Stay tuned this year to see how these projects evolve!
