Did someone say sale? I come running!

lots of sizes and colors but get it quick!

Ohhh how I am yearning for warmer temps after scrolling the Lilly Pulitzer sale. I miss the ease of summertime “throw on and go” dresses. It’s easy for me to fall to the temptation of buying all the pretty patterns and colors in this great sale, but I have a few tips to help you prioritize and make the most of the sale.

ONE: Know what you’re looking for. Do you need an Easter dress? A new cocktail dress? A dress for another special occasion like an upcoming wedding? Know your purpose for shopping the sale. note: things sell out quickly, so when you find THE DRESS you’re looking for, go ahead and check out.

Here’s my favorite cocktail dresses on sale. NOTE: for whatever reason the original price is showing but most are under $100!

Here’s some of my favorite maxis and jumpsuits. I think a maxi is one of the most versatile articles of clothing you can have. Wear it to a wedding (cocktail or formal), wear to an engagement party or very nice dinner. I also cannot tell you have much wear I have gotten out of a maxi dress with sleeves. Ever have the unseasonably cool event and you’re asking yourself “what do I wear?” A maxi with sleeves is the answer. I also own a Lilly jumpsuit and it is the cool and chic piece when you want a little edge, but still be fun and casual. I’ve worn it to engagement parties and bachelorette parties.

Here’s some great Easter dresses! Now is a perfect time to get a deal…not in two months when everyone else is also looking for a dress. And you can’t go wrong with a shift for Easter–classic!

TWO: everyday basics. If you’re looking to add some color to your wardrobe with easy pieces, I suggest Elsa tops/blouses and swing dresses. They are the easiest to guess your size and you can’t go wrong. I own several Elsa tops and love how perfect they are in spring and summer with crisp white bottoms or layer well with a sweater in the winter. It’s what I’m wearing in these photos. See, it goes with jeans or white denim. Also looks great tucked into a pencil skirt for work. They even make it in a button down now!

Here’s some swing dresses from the Sale. I have the Ophelia and Beacon styles and love the fit!

THREE: Know what patterns and colors you like. Some folks think all Lilly looks the same (ahem, my hubby, but he does like it on me). The truth is, while it’s a lot of bright patterns and bold colors, it’s smart to know what type you like. Do you like the patterns that have a darker background with bright foreground? Or the opposite. For bottoms, I prefer a dark background. Something about a bold pattern across my rear doesn’t feel flattering to me. For dresses, I’m okay if the whole thing is bright. Or maybe you like solids; this is a great time to stock up on quality solids that can last forever in your closet.

Happy Shopping!
