The Perfect Blue and White Fabric

Share or Save!

These days, we’re all obsessed with blue and white. It’s peaceful and serene and a true classic. Slapping it into animal print form makes it more versatile. As I’ve hunted the perfect blue and white fabric for clients, I’ve discovered my favorite blue and white animal print and wanted to share it with you today.

The best blues and whites

I adore this fabric because of the color components. The background is white but it’s not stark white but it’s not creamy or ivory. It’s the best base that allows the blues to pop. The dark blue and light blue are an ideal combination of tone on tone. At it’s darkest, the blue looks great with navy but the light blue also has just a touch of periwinkle to it. The white, dark blue, and light blue is the trifecta of color combinations!

Where to Use it

I’ve used this on so many items for my clients, my booth, and myself. In fact, many clients now ask for it!

It’s a heavier fabric so it can work as upholstery; as I did on these rattan chair cushions and desk chairs.

It also makes a durable pillow. I love a leopard as a background pillow because it allows a pattern (like a toile, pagoda, or floral) to pop against the leopard.

Recently, I used it as drapes in my office! I knew it wanted to use it as drapes because it would go with whatever I do in this room. I love how the light blue pulls the light blue from my floral chintz sofa but I also know these drapes will be in this room forever and go with so many things!

How You Can Get It

I’d love to help you in a custom project using this fabric; just fill out my contact form here. If you’re going the semi-custom route, Ballard Designs sells several items in this fabric.

You can get semi custom drapes in this in a variety of sizes. While my drapes were made custom with specific returns, black out fabric, and specific lengths, this is a great option to give you the effect for less.

I’ve got another standout option for you! A round table skirt in it! For all the same reasons as to why I love my drapes, this is a great accent that will go with so many rooms! It’s why my clients ask for this fabric.

The table, skirt, and glass top are available in my booth at Cottage Grove. Send me an email if you’re interested in purchasing these! The table is 34″ wide and the drop is 30″.

Other Ready Made Items in this Fabric

Ballard has a several other items in this fabric. Whether you’re going full blown drapes, or a just an accent like a lampshade, this is a versatile blue and white that will last the test of time! That barrel back swivel glider or wood frame chair is perfect for your family room! That storage ottoman is genius for a kids play room and will grow with them well into their teen years. The upholstered headboard is smart for any room–children, master, guest room. Every style of bedding will work with it. I actually did it on a pair of twin heardboards for my booth (photo above). This fabric is truly one of the most versatile!
