I’m so excited to show y’all this table and all the elements I used to create it. It was so much fun creating a table that, I feel, reflects my bright, colorful, traditional style. I took these photos on my final setup day–two days before the actual event! I hope those hydrangeas last!
I knew I wanted to use my favorite turquoise and brown Wedgwood Florentine china. I went to a local fabric store, West End Fabrics, and found the topper. I wanted it to be a very wide runner; I think that’s unexpected. The pattern resembles elements of a tobacco leaf pattern and, of course, I adored the turquoise and pink mixed with the deep, royal blue and pops of green. I knew I needed a good base layer so I bought this 132″ round table cloth. I bought that large of a size because I wanted it to puddle a tad at the bottom. It’s inexpensive and comes in sooo many colors!
I also purchased fabric tape that has a thick embrodiery on it. I shared on stories how I made those napkins rings. you can see a little bit here how it’s not completely attached–do what ya gotta do! These are the gold bamboo flatware that I shared earlier in the week. I love how they pop against the fabric and add warmth to the table. I also shared the napkins earlier in the week. I was under a time crunch so I visited a local store, Shops of Provence, and they had the linen napkins and embroidered them in 24 hours for me!
Layers, layers, layers! The very bottom is a gold, round placemat that I’ve had for years topped with a woven hot pink placemat. Both were found at TJ Maxx. I love how the gold bottom layer gives a pretty backdrop, but the pink weave adds texture. The pink glass chargers are no longer made. I love them and wish I could add more to my collection. The sherbets are my mother’s crystal. I love that she has sherbets in her collection; makes for another fun element to style.
Oh the flowers, y’all! I was so worried about making them, but here is the gist of it. My mom said she saw some folks paint pampas grass so I googled and was so inspired by Mandy Moore’s wedding–take a look, it’s beautiful! So I found some in my neighborhood and snipped a few and painted it gold! I bought all the flowers at Trader Joes! I was inspired by this photo on pinterest; I wanted to create a tiered, layered look so that I would have a lot of height in a very tall room.
I do love the variegated roses! I wish I knew what they were called!
I also used my crystal water glasses which are Lenox Brilliance and no longer in production. I also used my Lenox pink goblets. I thought it added a soft touch to all the angles in the crystal being used.
The large vase and jardinaires are my mother’s. She was so generous to let me borrow them! I suggest sourcing these type of items from you local vintage store! I have to plug Cottage Grove Vintage Market!
I copied one of my favorite designers, Shayla Copas, with the pomegranate as a placecard. It adds another natural element and unique way to add seat assignments.
This was a such fun event to participate in! I hope I get to do it again!
