Meal planning can be such a chore; it’s really not one of my favorite things to plan out, but when I do, the week goes so much more efficiently. We eat better and actually eat the food in our house. Our little man will be starting solids soon and eating what we’re eating so it’s important that I have a plan for everyday. Here’s how I’m meal planning in 2025.
A Weekly Agenda
I’ve always had a meal planning notepad that consisted of the week laid out on one sheet and a perforated edge to tear off the grocery list. Now that breakfast, lunch, and dinner needs a plan, I needed more room! I bought this weekly agenda so I have plenty of space to write out every meal, cross out and replan.

It’s been so helpful to have this much space! It’s also helpful to write down other activities that may alter or delay our usual dinnertime routine. We leave the notebook open on the kitchen counter so we can remind ourselves what the meals are for each day.
Favorite Meals
There’s a big “notes” section in the back of this weekly agenda. I wrote down our favorite meals and sides so that when I’m planning, I can quickly check this list and give myself some ideas.

Monthly Overview
I haven’t done this yet, but once a month is complete, I plan on writing down what we actually ate on the monthly overview. This will help us analyze how we can best stock our pantry and deep freezer. We’re big on shopping BOGOs and using coupons. This will allow us to know how much we should actually purchase of an item.
There’s also a monthly review and monthly goals page in this planner. I’m not quite sure how I’ll use that related to meal planning, but I’m sure the reflections may come in handy!
