Warning–this is not a pretty post. ha! I took a few before photos of places that need some serious cleaning, organizing, and styling. And I’m going to show you how to do them with things you already have! I am in a position where I cannot purchase anything at the moment and I know many of y’all are in the same position. This will be a creative challenge and I’m excited to cross things off the to-do list and make them pretty while doing it!
This is the closet in my office. Can you tell I just shoved everything I didn’t need into the closet. Can’t even walk in! This will get tackled soon!
For whatever reason, I’ve just been putting off decorating and finishing the accessorizing in our bedroom. I should make it look pretty since it’s the last space I see at the end of the day and the first space I see every morning. Bedrooms are worthy, y’all!
I’ve made two lists: one for clean up and one for styling. Let’s do this!
The Quarantine Clean Up List includes:
- makeup drawer and beauty cabinet
- travel beauty bag
- master bathroom cabinet
- upstairs guest room
- pantry
- guest closet/coat closet
- switch bedroom closets in basement
office closet- laundry room
The Quarantine Styling List includes:
- master bedroom dresser
- bedside tables
- master bath
- basement bath
- basement guest room
- kitchen counters and shelves
- coffee table in the den
- hang botanicals in dining room
- laundy room
I’m slightly overwhelmed by my lists. YIKES that’s a lot of spaces. Some are more challenging than others but I’ve got time and I’m going to give myself grace for this. They are not perfect now and they will likely not be perfect at the end of it, but they will be better! Getting started is really the hardest part; I had to come back and update this post before it goes live to strike through one item. Yay! We can do this y’all!
Are you trying to organize, clean, or style any spaces in your home during this time? I’m just finding that since I am here more, I want every area I’m in to feel homey. So many spaces feel good, but I want them ALL to feel welcoming, restful, and peaceful. We need peace right now. And I think doing these items will help with that!
