Our dining room is the walk through space in our home. You have to go through it to get from kitchen to bedrooms. And since I love entertaining, I’m happy for it to be the main walk through. I do have to admit, that flat surface of a dining table can quickly get covered with clutter–especially my vintage finds to clean up and take to the shop to sell. One way I fight the clutter is to set the table. When the table is beautiful, I don’t want to clutter it up!

Because I knew I wanted this to last a while, I chose to use my ginger jars and blue and white to be the center of the table–no florals needed! From there, I wanted a touch of blue in the place setting, so my Blue Willow dinner plates were the perfect accent.

I also wanted to use all. the. colors. ALWAYS. So I chose to top it all off with the Haviland Eden Bird of Paradise china. It’s a very old pattern that is from my husband’s family. I really like how the golden edges and coral flowers go so well with the wingback chairs!

I love adding a modern geometric to classic chinoiserie elements–that’s how you get the perfectly styled mix!

I found some very similar ginger jars online!
Did you know you can get Blue Willow on Amazon? I find mine while sourcing and hunting vintage and I would highly suggest stopping by Cottage Grove, but if you’re in a pinch, here’s a link to it! And here’s a link to very similar bamboo flatware.
Do you leave your table set? Give a try; you might be surprised how clean your dining room stays!
