Happy Monday! Last night, we had a small group from our Sunday School over for a Supper Club. We were expecting to have ten people around the table, so I had to keep things simple so as not to overcrowd the table. One glass (water glass and folks brought their wine glass from appetizers outside with them), one fork, one knife, napkin and done. It had to have been an enormous table on Downtown Abbey to set a full place setting and have room for all that and the guests!
I knew I wanted to use the Theodore Haviland Bird of Paradise China. The warm yellow with a bit or orange-y reminds me of fall. I paired it with bronze chargers from Michaels. I believe this is them at this link; they call it brown. I like using the bronze as a warmer, more casual element than plain gold.
My aunt found the gold dotted napkin rings. I love how it’s a casual touch of gold. Here are some similar ones on Wayfair! The cowrie napkin rings came from my favorite vintage store (Cottage Grove) and vendors Upstated Vintage and House of Bristow. I actually found some on Amazon if you’re interested in getting some for yourself!
I used my crystal because it’s what I had 10 of! I know some people don’t like to use something unless it’s a special occassion, but I say use it! It’s always fun to bring out these items! If you have it, use it!
I completely forgot i had these small wine cork candles and I loved using them! Just put them in an empty wine vase and you have instant candelabra! I added some nandina from my yard to add some texture, greenery, and touch of fall. I found them online at Wayfair and Wal-Mart!
I love using a silver wine bucket, but if you’ve got to chill more than one, it’s a challenge. I use this big double walled bowl. You could use any bowl, but I do think the double wall helps the condensation not make a huge mess. Here is a pewter style one from Bed, Bath, and Beyond at a great price!
Just wanted to share these few entertaining finds and inspiration!
