A Vintage Summertime Supper

Share or Save!

My friend Maggie (@silvertreejewelry) and I got together recently to create this beautiful vintage summertime supper. We hope it inspires you to pull out your finest and have your girlfriends over for a long lingering meal. And if you feel like you’re missing something from the scene, just call a friend to borrow it. It’s so much fun to mix and match pieces from all over to create a beautiful vintage summertime supper.

Layer the Table

All gorgeous tables have layers to them: tablecloth, placemat, charger, colorful china, etc. We grounded our outdoor table with a simple orange and white floral tablecloth. Maggie brought her capiz shell placemats for a touch of subtle sparkle. As chargers, we used Maggie’s silver trays. Creating new uses for old things is one of my favorite things to do and these were the perfect size and also made each place setting unique. For a contrast of metallics, we used gold flatware.

For a pop of chinoiserie, we used a teal napkins with a pagoda monogram. The pink beaded napkin ring adds pizzazz and texture. How gorgeous are those layers of turquoise china? It’s summertime cool but bright!

The color continues into the glassware with aqua stemware and amber glass.

The Centerpiece

Maggie brought this beautiful silver biscuit jar for the centerpiece. It was so easy to fill with hydrangeas and greenery from the yard. Isn’t it a stunning piece? There we go again with new uses for old things!
