Now that we’ve talked about the proper lanterns and paint color let’s chat about adding character to your curb appeal. I’m sure you can recall a similar feeling—riding down the street and you see home that just looks inviting. That’s what we want our homes to feel like!
Add Seating
Nothing says “come over and hang out” like a place to sit down. Adding seating through rocking chairs or benches creates that invitation.
And even if you aren’t going to sit in it all the time, it’s the look that invokes the invitation that’s important–that’s what gives the curb appeal! Here’s a round up of several benches below. Add Personality
Beyond your bench style, you can add something to the lawn that shows your decorating style. I love a garden stool! They give off that chinoiserie vibe, add color, and a good place to set a drink. No better place for one than the garden!

I’m also trying to add a tree swing to our big oak tree on the driveway side. This will add more personality and an inviting look as well. I’ve got all the materials and it won’t be hard to hang but I need my husband’s man strength and height to help me hang it. Maybe I can do that this weekend!
