This week, I’ll be sharing all about building a better bed. Let’s start with bed placement tips! It’s simple and can make all the difference in an inviting bedroom.
The Bed Should Face the Entrance
When you walk into your bedroom, you should be looking at the bed. This is what gives the bed that “come climb in and take a nap” feeling (along with pretty bedding, more on that later this week). The bed should greet you prominently at the entrance to the room.

The Bed Should Be Centered on the Wall
The bed should be centered on the wall. This will create balance and harmony in the space. It can be tempting to slide the bed slightly towards one side or the other to create more space, but that will disrupt the balance of the room. In my experience, that imbalance is worse than having more space. The rare exception is children’s rooms where they need to get down and play on the floor.

Of course, there are exceptions if you have an odd shaped room, but for rooms that are square or rectangle, center the bed in the space.
Climb on In
