A surcie is a litte unexpected gift just because. It’s a Southern thing! And since it’s a gift just because, I love giving on any occasion or holiday. Today, I’m sharing a very easy gift to celebrate Easter with someone you love.

Grocery Store Florals
Every room needs something living and that’s why I love having houseplants throughout my home. Fresh flowers kick it up a notch and gifting one or the other is such a sweet, lighthearted sentiment for a friend. I popped in Trader Joe’s this week and these tulips were only $4.99! Easter lillies were 6.99! Pick up a fresh bouquet or house plant on your next grocery store run and plan a porch drop for a dear friend.

Put a Bow on It
It’s just not a proper present without a big bow! I prefer to use floral satin because it has a stiff shape and only takes one or two loops to make a large bow. I keep all the colors on hand!
Personalize It
Y’all may recall the lovely pink willow gift enclosure cards I discovered on Etsy a few weeks ago. The same company, MaryBPaperie, recently designed these lovely Easter tags. I adore the floral cross set atop a gingham backdrop!

Knowing a few upcoming milestones for friends and family, I loved the cross design and wanted to customize it for more occasions. I messaged Meredith and she was able to create these tags for me. That was so generous of her to take extra time to switch up the phrasing to create my very own tag. I chose the beginning of the verse Numbers 6:24 — “May the Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.” I think this verse is so fitting for upcoming baptisms, weddings, graduations, etc. It’s such a sweet prayer for friends and family as they embark on big or little journeys. Everyone is going through some sort of journey, trial, hardship, whatever and this verse is a simple prayer to encourage each other.
These cards are also so pretty to slide into your bible as a bookmark (hmmm maybe I’ll give them out to my bible study friends!) and stick on the fridge as a daily reminder, too.
No More Boring Tags
After discovering Meredith’s adorable MaryBPaperie shop, I cannot believe I ever used a basic sticker gift tag, ha! There’s so many beautiful options that truly represent my style. I love putting something that’s symbolic of my personal style on a present. So that if it was in a pile, the receiver would pick it up and immediately know “oh, this came from Anna Louise!” We sign our letters and notes and everything else with our signature; why shouldn’t we sign our presents similarly? For chinoiserie flair, you can’t go wrong with a blue willow tag or the pagoda tag.
I hope my mom doesn’t read this post because after she commented on how much she loved the pink willow tags, I had these tobacco leaf tags made for her. I can’t wait to give them to her!
Happy Easter and happy surcie giving!
