Go ahead and know that this is not healthy. It’s loaded with butter, but that makes it delicious! My hubby loves shrimp; even before we discovered this recipe, he would ask for it once a week. He found the recipe online and after we’ve cooked it a few times, we’ve made some adjustments to suit our tastes.
Essentially, it’s butter, oil, garlic, red pepper flakes, and white wine with shrimp sauteed. It couldn’t be an easier.
Here’s what you need:
4 tablespoons of butter
4 tablespoons of EVOO
6-8 garlic cloves, minced
1 cup of dry white wine or cooking wine
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp of red pepper flakes (my hubs sometimes adds more)
ground black pepper
1 1/2 pounds of shrimp, peeled and deveined
A squeeze of lemon juice
chopped parsley for garnish
cooked pasta
Directions:
- melt butter and olive oil over medium high heat and sautee garlic until fragrant, about 2 minutes. Add white wine (we use cooking wine so it keeps in the pantry longer), red pepper flakes, salt, and ground black pepper. Let it simmer and reduce by half.
- Add shrimp and sautee until pink, about 5 minutes. Squeeze lemon juice and sprinkle with parsley.
- serve over noodles or crusty bread.
My favorite restaurant makes this as an appetizer and serves it with crusty bread and it is delicious to dip bread in that garlic butter! This would be a fantastic holiday appetizer!
