Susan Shaw is one of my favorite jewelry lines. I’ve been wearing it since I could wear real jewelry and I usually have on at least one piece of Susan Shaw everyday. They only do a sale twice a year and now is the best time to make a jewelry purchase. Everything is buy one, get one half off. Here’s a few ideas of how to take advantage of the sale.
Bridesmaids Gifts
When you’re buying multiple pieces, this is the time to take advantage of the sale and get a discount! Go ahead and get your bridesmaids jewelry, the mother of the bride jewelry, the bridal jewelry, etc.
- pearl threader earrings — classic pearls in a delicate cluster that hang at the perfect length from the earlobe. Classic and won’t compete with any bridesmaid dress and also extremely lightweight for the all day affair. You may also want to check out the baroque pearl threader or the blue and white threader.
- gigi drops — If you want a touch of color in your bridesmaid jewelry, this is the way to go. It’s just a touch, nothing too dramatic but still that soft pop of color. They come in several colors and even clear if you want that crystal look with no color.
- pearl cluster vine earrings — I love how this adds a soft touch of a botanical element.
- coin pearl row bracelet — I love how this gives the impact that a bracelet stack provides, yet it’s all one bracelet. This is a fantastic bracelet option for bridesmaids because of how timeless it is and it won’t clank like a stack as they walk down the aisle. Can’t you just see the pretty photo of all the bouquets and these pretty bracelets on the wrist?!
- gigi necklace — I have this necklace in pink and wear it regularly. This coordinates well with the Gigi drops above, or works so very well on it’s own with any other jewelry you select. It also comes in several colors and a pearl version.
Graduation Gifts
Pearls are a classic graduation gift and it would be smart to buy earrings and a necklace now. Gift one at graduation, another at Christmas; plan to build their pearl collection and take advantage of the discounted items now!
- pearl cluster dainty necklace — This is a sweet choice for any age graduate. Because it’s delicate, I think it would be smart for a younger graduate, but the delicate style is so on trend for everyday, too!
- pearl studs — My bible study leader from high school gifted us all a pair of classic pearl studs. I still think of her when I wear them. More on that blog post here.
- pearl coin stud earrings — A classic pearl, but flat with a little impact with the gold border.
- gigi pearl necklace — Another delicate choice and unique dainty chain and pendant.
- amelia pearl bracelet — I love a classic pearl bracelet and the floral pendant adds a little whimsy.
- triple strand pearl necklace — What a gift for a college grad! Something they will have in their jewelry box forever!
- classic pearl bracelet – Sometimes simplicity is best.
Everyday Classics
The jewelry that you grab when you’re running out the door and put on in the car. The jewelry that you know works no matter what. It pays for itself because of how often you wear it and how it works with your entire wardrobe.
- bamboo bangle — I adore the texture of these bangles; they look like real bamboo that’s been dipped in gold. I own three, but I most commonly wear two of them with a different bracelet in the middle. It creates a pretty symmetrical stack on the wrist.
- braided cross studs — Everyone needs a pretty cross earring in their jewelry box and this is an impactful stud. Visible, but not heavy either. These are also the earring of the month!
- jerusalem cross studs — A classic and delicate.
- bamboo hoops — You can’t beat a classic hoop with a touch of chinoiserie feel.
- marquise hoops — My sister in law has these, and every time she wears them, I think, “gosh, those modern hoops look soo good. What a great twist on a classic.”
- estate hoops — chunky bamboo for when you want a hoop, but not a big one. It’s almost a huggie size.
- chain bracelet — every jewelry box needs a chain bracelet. They are good for stacking or wearing alone and the multi loops of this one are special.
- dainty necklace — I particularly like the chain on the dainty necklaces from Susan Shaw; they aren’t basic. They look more finished. I’ve so enjoyed wearing the gigi necklace as a touch of color on my collar bone.
Mother’s Day Gift
I think this category rings most true for me because every Mother’s Day I would look at my dad and ask what are we giving mom this year. Pretty much every year, we would pick out a Susan Shaw necklace.
- multi strand cross necklace — A statement necklace is a statement gift! The triple strand of pearls with the gold chain and cross pendant make this gorgeous on any outfit. I wore this necklace for Easter.
- double cotton pearls — For the mom who wants a classic statement earring, but needs a lightweight item, this is it! Cotton pearls are super lightweight and she’ll hardly be able to tell she’s wearing anything.
- blue and white lapis bracelet — Ok, how pretty would this be sandwiched between the bamboo bangles shared above?! Perfect for the chinoiserie lover!
- pearl accent hoops — classic hoops paired with classic pearls
- coin pearl row bracelet – If you’ve already given mom the necklace, give her the bracelet. Better yet, get both now while the sale is going on. One for Mother’s Day and the second item for Birthday or Christmas.
- blue and white pearl hoops – My brother and sister in law gave these to my mom. They are beautiful on; especially if you’ve got a touch of blue in your outfit. Gorgeous.
- clover necklace – The 16″ length is the perfect length. I’ve worn it over a turtleneck, over a crew neck, in an open collar. See more details here.
- clover cuff – This cuff gives the impact that a bracelet stack gives, but with one item.
In Lieu of Flowers
Several of you shared via DMs that you received sweet jewelry at celebrations or difficult times in your life. That rather than a friend sending you a bouquet in congratulations, they sent floral studs. Someone even had girlfriends who went in and bought cross earrings and gave them to her to wear at the funeral of a loved one. This is such a wonderful idea to give a friend something more permanent than flowers.
- dogwood studs — We all love the dogwood tree because of what it means to us at Easter and these are floral symbol of that time.
- braided cross earrings and ring — I’ve been wearing these regularly lately and I love the ring! It makes a statement on your hand.
- lily stud earrings — Lilies are a common flower to send condolences and for funerals, but consider giving lily earrings instead.
- jerusalem cross earrings and necklace — Did you know the smaller four crosses represent the gospels and the gospel being spread to all corners of the earth?
- pearl and cross bracelet – Most of the toggle bracelets have the pendant hanging from the toggle, but I love how this cross is between the pearls.
