It’s been two weeks since hubby and I embarked on our Tennessee buying trip. It was a long weekend and we so enjoyed getting away and doing something fun. Seeing a best friend get married was also super special 🙂 Here’s all the details on our mini vintage buying trip!

First Stop – Chattanooga
When I realized we could take an alternate route to our final weekend destination and see Tortoise and Hare Vintage, I had to plan out this stop! I’m so glad we did! Anne and Carrie, the ladies who run T&H, were also extremely helpful with my trip planning; that was so kind of them to give me some travel ideas.

Chattanooga is the first city in TN when coming on I-75 and it is Exit 1, just when you cross the border into Tennessee from Georgia. It was lunch time when we arrived and we ate at Jonathon’s. I gathered its a chain in the state and they had a wonderful variety of salads, sandwiches, wings, etc.
With our bellies full, we were ready to walk it all off exploring antique stores and booths! We headed to Chattanooga Mercantile. Seeing Tortoise and Hare in person was so fun! I’ve admired their vintage and style for so long and it kinda felt like meeting a celebrity! I didn’t get to meet the ladies, but I sure soaked up all their home decor goodies there.
I also really enjoyed the booth Revamped and Reclaimed. They were so my style of bright colors!
After exploring Chattanooga Mercantile, we decided to head to our hotel to get a little downtown before dinner. We checked into The Edwin Hotel which is located right at the base of the walking bridge over the Tennessee River. The Edwin Hotel is a modern boutique hotel with lots of glamorous furnishings and plenty of art.

After we chilled for a little bit, we got dressed for dinner and took a walk on the bridge. The sunset was so pretty! The other side of the river very much reminded me of Asheville with an artsy vibe.
At the top of the Edwin Hotel is a rooftop bar named Whiskey Thief. We were able to get a table on the patio overlooking the bridge and river for a quick drink and appetizer before dinner.
The ladies of Tortoise and Hare suggested the restaurant that is located in the Edwin for dinner — White Bird. I loved the atmosphere! I tried ceviche for the first time! It was delicious!
On the Road Again!
The next morning, we hit the road and headed to Franklin. While my husband drove, I researched estate sales in the Franklin and Brentwood areas. I found a few and we decided to hit them all since we had the entire day and weren’t in any rush. They were all very expensive or had items I couldn’t fit in the car so we actually went through them pretty quickly. We ended up in downtown Franklin and had time to explore the antique shops around there. My favorites were Winchester Antiques and Franklin Antique Mall.
Our hotel was in the Cool Springs area and we decided to stay nearby for dinner. We were able to get a late reservation at The Honeysuckle. This was our favorite meal of the trip! Absolutely delicious and I really want to make the trip back just to eat here!
I want those lighted trees on my back patio year round! How gorgeous would that atmosphere be? These seem very similar and not Christmas like.
Exploring Franklin
On Saturday, I went to a few consignment and thrift stores in the morning and we spent the day exploring more of downtown Franklin. It’s the cutest little town! I loved exploring their stores like Hester and Cook and Philanthropy.
We ended our foodie tour by having brunch at 55 South. I would definitely recommend getting the crab fries!
Where to next?
We left early the next day in an effort to make good travel time. Where should I head next? This was such a fun trip and an easy one to do during this crazy pandemic times. I’ve got the itch to explore a new town and find some vintage! Leave me some suggestions in the comments!
