Do you ever put on new makeup and think “YES! This is what I’ve been trying to achieve!?” Well, I just got in my Tarte makeup from the Friends and Family Sale and I’m so pleased with my purchases so I wanted to share with you!
First up is the Shape Tape. This is a no brainer. It covers well but doesn’t feel like I’m wearing anything. Adds a bit of brightness to make me awake too! Seriously, I was doing my makeup at 7:15 this morning and thought “Wow, I look like it’s at least 10:15am.”
My second purchase was this eyeshadow. I always use a creamy white for the inner corners of my eye, to blend my darker shadow over the lid, and just beneath my eyebrow. I’m pretty simple on most days and just use two shades. I love this palette from Beautycounter; I use the shade “smolder” in my crease and usually blend with “cameo” or “flush.” Those colors had run out so I needed just one light color to blend so I bought the Tarte “tartiest” metallic eyeshadow in shade “pinup prismatic pearl.” It’s the perfect highlight!
My third item purchased is the “lights, camera, lashes” mascara. It’s one of those skinny wands that lets you really get close to the root of your lashes and pull up for dramatic lift. I did about three coats and it’s excellent coverage! I usually prefer a fluffier wand/brush, so I may try to clean one from another old mascara and see how I like this mascara with a fluffy brush. I felt a little excessive spending that much on mascara, but it’s on sale and I new I probably wouldn’t make it to a drugstore before this arrived, so I felt like the time saved was worth it!
