The New White Elephant Gift Exchange — Amazon Style

Share or Save!

We’re all accustomed to a white elephant gift exchange. My bible study does one every year (sometimes we even do it just for fun in the spring to have a fun party). To change things up a bit this year, we added a very easy theme–bring your favorite Amazon purchase under $15. How easy is that? You don’t have to go out to find something. I literally just pulled up my past orders and took a glance at what I had ordered. It was so convenient and I loved seeing what everyone received and why someone brought it.

Also, rather than drawing numbers, we read a short story that had left and right in it. We rotated gifts and at the end of the story, the gift that was in your lap was yours. It made the swap go fast and we were able to spend quality time with each other rather than all the focus on “hmmm, do I want to keep this gift or open a new one?.” It was also time efficient; almost everyone in bible study has little ones at home to get tucked in, so this help move the party along and not drag it out.

I thought I would share some of my favorite things I saw opened at the party. Hopefully it can give you a few gift ideas!

For my contribution, I took the purse organizer. Y’all have seen me rave about these all the time. It’s just so nice to have a spot for everything and not have to dig into an abyss hoping you finally grab what you’re looking for!

And guess what I came home with! An electric wine opener! This is one of those things I would never buy myself but I’m so happy I received one! Ohh, it’s on sale for $13 today!

Another popular item was the blue light glasses. I have a pair and do feel like my eyes are less strained when I wear them. I even bought them in readers for my dad for his birthday. Another easy gift and great stocking stuffer!

Can you believe two people brought the same thing? The Yankee Candle Balsam and Cedar candle. It definitely got passed around for everyone to get a whiff of the Christmas scent.

Something that everyone was intrigued and wants to try….homemade cleaners in these glass spray bottles. My friend made cleaners from Clean Mama and brought them as her gift. How thoughtful! I have some spray bottles from Dollar Tree but I really liked the size of these glass ones; I might have to try. They were a good size to fit under the sink and in small spaces. I love that they come with chalk labels!

I enjoy playing games with a group, but am not up to date with the latest game trends. I was intrigued by this game because its one of strategy and looks like something the entire family could enjoy. And it’s only 30 minutes. Not trying to limit family time, but also not trying to spend hours upon hours playing Monopoly.

The next item, I didn’t get all the details and I’m not super familiar with but we all wanted to know more! This lip gloss from Glo Minerals is apparently only sold at spas and salons but it supposed to be amazing. But it is available on Amazon!

We had a few folks who packed some winter care items. Who doesn’t need a restock on kleenexes and vitamins? I hadn’t heard of Zarbee’s until this, but from all my mama friends, its the best in childcare vitamins and meds.

Zarbees Elderberry

Isn’t it ironic how the baker ended up with the baking items? People who owned the silicone baking sheets were raving! I don’t have any, but I think it’s time I upgraded to these instead of using tin foil so I don’t have to clean the pan.

Maybe I should have made a list or taken notes because there were plenty more items but these are what stood out to me!
