We’re fortunate to have two decks and living areas of our home. I shared my perching porch on the blog last week and wanted to continue the outdoor experience with our downstairs den.
This is our total hangout area. We’ve added a sectional, extra seating, a TV and a dining area. Because the upstairs deck almost completely covers this area, the deck is shaded almost 100% of the time and it’s usually pretty cool out there. We love ending our weekend summer days stretched out on the sectional watching TV. Sometimes we get so relaxed that we fall asleep! I usually have a moment where I tell my hubby “ok, I’m getting so relaxed that we need to clean up so I don’t spend the night out here.”
This area is a more open space than our upstairs deck and if we are entertaining, we usually hang out here because of the seating and dining areas. I’ll share more of my dining area later this week!
Just as I did with the upstairs, I think it’s important to mix and match to create a layered and cozy look. Our sectional and coffee table are a matching set, but the two side chairs and side table are actually a bistro set. I love that I can move those three things around to be a small dining table for just me and hubby if needed.
