In recent years, I have loved having a good manicure. In my former job where I was constantly mingling with VIPs, I felt like a good manicure showed that I presented myself well and took care of myself. I still feel that way. And I just feel more confident when my nails look good.
I certainly had to give up the expensive gel and dip manicures when I left my job. I couldn’t afford that on a monthly basis. A friend recently told me about the peel and stick nails and now I am hooked! I have tried the glue on nails and those were pretty good; however, I was not good with glue and always made a mess. Even when I bought the “real short” length, I still had to file them down. It would take a while for me to do the manicure. And the glue left a little bit of damage.
The Impress Nails are the solution to all my do-it-myself manicures!
These nails make it so easy! There’s 30 nails in a box (comes with accent nail but I’m not hip enough to pull that off), a cuticle pusher, a cleaner, and a file. You can file them down if you need to, bu I don’t have to with these; they are the perfect length. That’s another time saver for me! Here are some easy steps I take to be sure it comes out perfect:
- Trim your natural nails. I like to keep mine short and I want them to be just a little shorter than the fake nail that will go on top.
- Pick out your nail sizes. Lay the nails on top of your nails to determine what sizes fit your nail best. There are very small numbers on the inside and the peel of the nail. Once you know you’re a 1 on a thumb, it can help you find the 1 to go on the other thumb. However, I do have some fingers that are a different size on the other hand. Just find what fits best and covers your natural nail well. That’s the key in getting this to look professional.
- Clean your nails with the enclosed wipe.
- Peel the paper off the nail and start pressing! The peel flap is the bottom of the nail. Try to get as close to your cuticle as you can. This is another important part of it looking natural. I try to press the nail for about 5-10 mississippi seconds. This helps it adhere tightly.
- Enjoy your beautiful manicure!
I have found these at Walgreens for 6.99, but BOGO 1/2. Then I found them at Target for 5.99. Either deal, it’s a great way to get a professional manicure on the cheap!
I have found that they last me almost two weeks. When one felt loose, I just popped it off and popped the rest off. I could feel it pulling, but it didn’t hurt. It did leave a little glue residue, but that came off with some soap and water. There was no damage to my nail like other glue on nails leave!
So if you’re near Target, add these nails to your pick up! I’m sorry they are 9.99 online. I know mine were not that much in the store!
They come in a variety of colors. There’s a matte finish one that I think will look so good for fall. And a red that I can’t wait to wear for the holidays! They are available at Walgreens, but not all are available online. I’m sure other drugstores have them, too.
Oh, some are on Amazon for decent prices! Here is the red for only 5.97 on prime! These are 9.75, but I love this light purple. Lavendar is about to be as big as blush, ya’ll.
Have you tried these nails? You’ll have to tell me your experience! Do you like have a mani?
