I wanted to share a few favorites to kick off this Labor Day Weekend. Some of them are just because and some of them may be super helpful to your home decor! Let’s get the weekend started with Friday Favorites!
Pleated Lampshade
I am always on the hunt for appropriate lamp shades so when I saw this $20 pleated lampshade, I immediately added to cart! Look how great it looks on the lamp in my office!
This is an excellent choice for smaller lamps. Based on the 15″ bottom width, I was hoping it would work with some lamps in my living room, but I felt like it was too small for the space.
If you need a larger pleated lamp shade, I recommend this one ALL THE TIME to clients!
I know there’s a big price difference in the smaller shade and the larger shade. If I find that middle of the road lamp shade, I’ll tell you! I’m always hunting for it!
As a designer, I do want to point out the differences and the value in each. The $20 shade is a wonderful way to update a small lamp on a budget. Notice how the pleats and folds are all going the same direction. The $150 shade comes in several sizes and notice that it is box pleated. I do believe that is finer craftsmanship; thus the higher price point.

Ginger Jar Sale
I really don’t know if there’s a better accessory than a ginger jar. They come in a variety of sizes, make wonderful lamps, add color, add sheen…they do so much for a vignette! Lauren Haskell Designs has created a line of ginger jars in various colors, styles, and shapes. Another item I recommend to clients ALL THE TIME! Her special touch gives an updated sophistication to a classic and traditional object.

The Ginger comes in a variety of tones and textures, too! The gold bamboo is so fun and the straw adds excellent texture to an outfit. The beaded comes in so many fun colors that it makes it easy to grab the color you want to make a special occassion outfit super special and impactful!
Porch Season
It’s *slightly* cooler this weekend so hubs and I have big plans to spend Saturday on the porch watching football. We have plans (I chuckle a little at this because it might turn into laying in bed) to cook a breakfast on our griddle outside and watch gameday and then grill steaks at night before the Clemson game (I chuckle at that because I’ll at least be in my pajamas outside and then I’ll probably be in bed by halftime). Either way, we’ll be out that at some point to enjoy the scenery and weather!

Long Weekend
I’m excited for a long weekend! I have an appointment this morning and then I’m meeting up with hubs for an afternoon adventure. We didn’t make any plans for the entire weekend, so starting it out off with an outing will be fun!
