Yesterday on Instagram, I shared how I’ve been able to help clients virtually by creating design boards and supplying links for them to purchase. They are given everything they need to implement the layout and create the lovable room for themselves. Even if they can’t purchase every item at this moment, it’s a valuable resource that allows them to finish the room at their pace.
I do the same thing with my home! I’ve slowly been working towards adding more color to my master bedroom. I’m please with several of the big pieces of furniture, but I want to add some colorful textiles and accessories to really finish it.
To give you an idea of the timeline…we’ve had the bed and custom bedskirt for about five years. I love them! In the fall, I panted our dresser white and updated the hardware. In January, I bought new euro shams (but just put them on two weeks ago, ha!). Now, in April, I’m looking towards new curtains, blinds, and toss pillows.
You can click the curtains and ginger jars to go directly to the source! My favorite contact for pillows is Wheaton Whaley Designs. She takes gorgeous designer fabrics and can customize all your pillow dreams. Its a great way to add some designer flair in small doses. I’ll be shopping my favorite local vintage shop, Cottage Grove, for a good oval brass tray and more ginger jars. Maybe I’ll find them on my next vintage hunting trip myself!
Just a few weeks ago, I brought several items in from other areas of my home–coral side table, gold greek key lamps, and some vintage accessories. I love how color was added in through these pieces and I can’t wait to see how it will all come together with some new textiles.
I’m not sure when I’ll be able to commit to the curtains and pillows. It may take me some time but I’ve got the resources for when I do. And if you’re needing some help adding color to your home, I’m available! I’d love to equip you with a design board and resources for you to execute a design on your schedule–whether that’s immediately or over the course of six months!
Many folks think they can’t afford to hire a decorator. During this quarantined season, you can’t afford not to! Your home should welcome you (yes, you, not just guests) and be a relaxing, enjoyable environment because it reflects your personality and aesthetic. For $65 an hour, I am available for a virtual, facetime call. During that time, you’ll show me your spaces that need some design help, what items you want to use, and how you want the room to function. From there, I will create a design board for $100 with all the visuals to help you see the room transformation. All links to purchase will be provided and you can execute the design on your timeline at the rate you’re able to! Let’s get to decorating!
