Bedside Table Styling Formula

I updated our guest bedroom with fresh paint, linens, art and lamps last fall, and I’m just now getting around to appropriately styling the bedside tables. I am in full nesting mode with this pregnancy and knowing that we will have family coming to visit the baby, I want this guest room to be complete, homey and have all the essentials. Keep reading for my bedside table styling formula and links to items used.

Bedside Table Styling Formula

  1. A good lamp. I did install these navy gourd lamps back in the fall when I did the major overhaul. They are from Amazon and I updated them with a little gold rub n buff and an acrylic riser. You can read my full blog post on that transformation here. See more of my favorite Amazon lamp pairs here.

2. A good backdrop. It’s so common to use mirrors on either side of a bed, but a beautiful print can make a gorgeous backdrop too. These Urban Garden Prints in the Crane Panel pair add chinoiserie pattern and bold color and I love the height they add to draw the eye up. This particular pair of cranes comes in several colors and sizes. Read my full blog post here and use DIXON30 when you’re shopping UGP for 30% off!

3. Trays. I always have a bedside tray for my nightly lotions and corralling jewelry, and I think guests appreciate that too. The small tray above is a few years old from Jayes Studio; use DIXON20 when shopping. The tray in the photo below is a vintage brass bamboo tray from an estate sale.

4. Framed Art and photos. I wanted to add family photos since that is who primarily visits us. I felt like it added a homey touch. I also wanted to add some lovely art. In the photo above, I framed a notecard by Gabi Cook in a gold bamboo Amazon frame. The colors compliment the room so well! In the photo below, I framed a Kelly Pelfrey print in a Jayes Studio bamboo frame. The family photos are in frames from TJMaxx. Stacking them on coffee table books adds a little height to balance the tall lamp, too.

5. Tissues. Since I have terrible allergies, I always have tissues in arm’s reach throughout my home and I want to offer the same for my guests. The tissue cover in the photo below is by Jayes Studio.
