Here’s the after photos you’ve been waiting for! The leopard carpet from All About Flooring was installed last week and it is quite the transformation! Check out my first blog post about shopping for carpet at All About Flooring.
There’s still a lot to come in this room (wallpaper next week!), but the carpet makes such a dramatic difference and feels so much more my style. Immediately after the install, even with the empty room and no furniture placed back in yet, it felt cozy and homier. Here’s a before photo with the awful, stained grey carpet:
Install Process
All About Flooring has been a dream to work with during this process! We initially only wanted carpet in this room, but y’all know how one thing leads to another…I decided it would be a good time to do wallpaper, too. All About Flooring was so gracious with my timelines. When I figured out wallpaper, I wanted to also paint the ceiling and I definitely wanted that done before precious new carpet arrived.
One thing that was so helpful was an “expectations document” that All About Flooring went over with me. Communication is the most important thing in any working relationship and I so appreciated these details. The document went over what to expect in new builds or replacing in existing home and things like that.
One thing I didn’t know was that I should prepare for some dust and dirt. I’m so glad they told me that! I would think that it’s not construction so there won’t be a mess. Well, the old carpet pad had basically disintegrated and it left a ton of dust. My husband walked in and asked “what’s the sawdust from?” It was debris from the old carpet pad! AAF did a great job sweeping and vacuuming this up, but I’m very grateful for the initial heads up.
The install crew from All About Flooring was efficient and professional the entire day. It only took them two hours to install the carpet in our living room. I so enjoyed watching them work! It’s fascinating to watch such specific skills create and install carpet so perfectly! They were so kind to let me watch and film!
More to Come
There was enough leopard carpet remnants to make a rug! Remember when I held up the leopard sample to my chintz sofa in my office? That’s where the rug remnant is going! It’s currently getting edge binding and will be here soon. When All About Flooring came to initially measure, they let me know that there would be remnants and we could make rugs. Their attention to that detail from the first measurement allowed me to make plans for the remnants. Many of you have told me that you didn’t even know using your carpet remnants was an option.
