Southerners really have a knack for transforming natural elements from our backyard into something beautiful. We’ve long been “civic pruning” to make our floral arrangements extra special. Josie, with South of Dearing, has transformed oyster shells into beautiful gilded oyster napkin rings! And we can use these everyday!

An Inspiring Menu…

When I saw these gorgeous oyster napkin rings, I thought it would be so fun to create a casual and cozy dinner party around a seafood themed menu. Admittedly, I’m not a huge fans of eating oysters, but that doesn’t mean we can’t have a delicious meal. The beautiful napkin rings will echo the coast and inspiration of our menu!

While I haven’t planned every detail of this dinner party, I’m thinking the menu should include a big pot of grits, crab cakes, salmon, and shrimp skewers. I just love seafood and grits together!

A Colorful and Casual Tablescape

I found the vintage plates while out hunting one day and fell in love with the colors and chinoiserie floral motif! I also love their shape and size; almost a shallow bowl, they will be perfect for this grits and seafood dinner!

This bamboo flatware is extremely affordable! I am trying to slowly add to it so I can use it for large dinner parties!

This is a great price for 12 chambray napkins. I really like the hemstitch detail!

Wicker chargers are one of the smartest chargers you can invest in. They add texture to tablescapes but also extremely handy when entertaining large crowds. I use mine with paper products regularly; they serve as a “tray” when carrying a paper plate through a buffet line.

My rattan glasses are a few seasons old but I found these rattan holders. This is even more versatile! Put it on any glass you own!

My blue glasses are vintage but I found this set of 12 and I love the angles in the glass!
