It’s that time of year when I want to look fall, but it’s still warm. I feel like we’ve been in this temperature range for so long. Why do I think it should be cold by now and we should be in sweaters all the time? It’s October in the south. I should know better by now.
I’ve found the perfect transition ensemble for these times when I am craving the laid back effort of leggings, but it’s still warm. Wear leggings with a sleeveless sweater and shooties. You’ve seen me rave about this sleeveless sweater I got from Anthro earlier this fall. I’ve worn it a lot and paired with anything from skirts to jeans. I’m so glad I invested in it.
You’ve also seen me talk about my shooties. I call them that because it’s a combo of a shoe and bootie. Looks like a bootie, but it’s peep toe and has an open heel. It’s so easy to slip on (why does zipping up a bootie or tying a shoe seem like too much in the morning, ha?) and is perfect for not looking like it’s winter with a normal bootie. I’m pretty sure I found my pair from DSW a few years ago. I love the light, natural color, too; it goes with my skin and thus looks good with skirts and dresses, too.
While what I’m wearing is all old, I’ve found some very similar pieces so you can create the look, too!
In terms of leggings, I’m wearing a pair that are Crown and Ivy from Belk. I have them in navy and black. I like the seam down the back of the leg. I did invest in the Spanx jean-ish legging in black and I will definitely be wearing them a lot soon! Depending on how often I wear these this fall, I may want the leather kind that everyone raves about. I don’t know if I’m cool enough for leather, so I felt better with these as my first purchase.
Now, let’s talk shooties. Some of the things I love about mine: peep toe, open back, neutral color, perforated. I’ve tried to find some that encompass these elements.
I found so many similar booties that I just couldn’t share them all above. Scroll though below to see more great deals!
