The Hunt for Hunter Rain Boots

Share or Save!

It can be hard to spend a lot of money on something that only gets worn occassionally–like rain boots. You only wear them when it rains. And even then, you sometimes only wear them if you know you’re really going to be out in the elements. While Hunter rain boots are price-y, I have never regretted purchasing them. I’m so glad I have them. When it is rainy day, I still look polished.

I purchased navy because, you guessed it, it’s the main neutral in my closet. I have plenty of other clothes that go with navy so it’s easy for my rainy day outfit to still be an outfit, rather than a thrown together ensemble of making due on a rainy day.

I adore the bright colors they come in. It adds such a bright pop to a dreary day. I just know that it was going to be hard to match up a rain coat with bright boots. If your style is all neutral with a pop, totally go for it! An all black outfit with a bright colored rainboot will look ultra chic.

If you’re not sure what color to get, you can’t go wrong with classic, shiny black. It will always be in style!

A few tips for scoring Hunter boots for a deal….check Nordstrom Rack. Go to your local store and peruse. I feel like I always a see a few in stock. However, I do feel like it’s their lines that happen seasonally, not the classic black or the colors they always produce. So if you’re going for the pop, check there. I bought mine from a flash sale site, Rue La La. I had saved up to buy them and knew the site would have them occasionally. When I saw them there, I went for it and made the purchase! And they are the site now! Here are the exact ones I have–the navy original tall gloss! They’ve even got the classic black and the grey is an excellent neutral choice as well! Loving the red gloss option, too; kinda like a bold red lip, these could be the finishing touch on an outfit.

If you’re not into the gloss, they come in a matte finish as well. I also want to know that because these are true rubber, they can get this white stuff on them. My glossy ones get that but I’m not sure about the matte option. If you’re worried about that, I would think the matte option would appear less.

While that’s a good deal, some of them are final sale. So if you want the selection and flexibility of returns, I would suggest using Nordstrom. Here are a few fun colorful and classic options there.

If you really want the look for less, you can check these out at Target. They are $49. Honestly, I would pay the $20 extra and get the real deal from Rue La La. The real things just fit and look better. Check my insta-stories.

While a rainy day can be a chore to dress for, having a stylish pair of boots does make it more fun! Happy Hunter hunting!
