The Centerpieces

I’m so excited to share how fantastic these vases are that I’ve just got to start here! I recently discovered the brand Lucy Grymes on instagram and have seen her products in a few home decor shops. Lucy designs a fantastic assortment of paper entertaining products. The best part — they don’t look like paper! I mean, look at those vases. You would never know they are paper!

They come in a set of 3, which is the ideal number for small, low centerpieces for a dinner party. In the box, they are folded in an accordion style. Once you loop each end to each other and insert the tabs, the accordion folds help the thick paper stand up.

Now, you’re free to create a floral arrangement of any kind in any type of vase. I used a stemless wine glass but you could even use a plastic solo cup and no one would know because you’ve slipped a beautiful Lucy Grymes paper vase wrap over it! Absolute genius!

You’ll see me share these beautiful vases a few more times! I’m just mesmerized with how simple, yet beautiful, the concept is. These are excellent items to keep on hand for last minute entertaining. Oh how I wish I had a stash of these when I was a professional party planner. I can’t tell you how many times I ran out to find some sort of vase for last minute florals. This would have saved me so much time!

The Place Setting

Blush and Gold Mother's Day TAble

The starting point for creating this tablescape was my grandmother’s china; it was actually her mother’s. She gave me all the pieces last year and it’s so special to use china that’s been passed down from mother to mother to mother to me. It’s a very old pattern called Hawthorn and I love those petite, scalloped gold edges. The beautiful hawthorn branches with sage green and whispy whites are so delicate as they adorn one side of the plate. It’s such a ladylike pattern!

To ground the dinner plate and contrast the green, I added a blush and gold charger. These chargers come in a set of 10 and would you believe these are plastic? They very much remind of fine china; but not the price tag! I will absolutely be using these in the future. They compliment fine china so well but I could also see using them some pretty paper plates for casual entertaining.

Because I love layers, I added a simple gold placemat and a blush tablecloth the soften the table. Extending the golden hues, I used my brass bamboo flatware for a touch of modern chinoiserie.

Gold Hyrdrangea Napkin Ring from Jayes Studio

These napkins are actually vintage rectangular placemats. They are very small placemats but make an excellent and durable napkin! It’s hard for me to source something similar that is made today, but these lace border napkins would add a similar delicate feel. The gold hydrangea napkin rings echo the floral arrangements and are Jayes Studio. They no longer have the gold hydrangea napkin ring, but you can see their other options here. These floral napkin rings are an excellent alternative as a floral option.

The Glassware

The pink stemware is vintage and a gift from a sweet friend. It’s stamped France on the bottom and I think it’s so fun that I now have international vintage in pink! I love the white rattan wrapped glass and how it adds texture to the table. These are so fun and the rattan slips off easily so you can put the glass in the dishwasher! They also come in a navy and we know how I feel about navy (the best neutral).

Watermelon Lemonade is a new spin on pink lemonade!

The glass decanter is vintage but here is a similar one with a wood stopper. In my research, I also found just a plain wood ball stopper. These would be so great to add to a decanter you already have. I used this decanter to entertain bible study later that evening, and I do think it helps keep the pollen and bugs out of the beverage! The added texture is a decor bonus 🙂 It would be fab on this decanter; ironically, I also have this one!
