Easy Food

When I was asked to oversee the food and prep, I knew I needed to make this easy. I wanted a variety of bite size edibles. Publix is the answer! I ordered several trays from the Bakery ahead of time, picked them up the day before the event, and it couldn’t have been a smoother experience.

I was planning for 75 people to eat so I ordered 1 large scone tray, 1 large muffin tray, 1 large pastry tray, and 1 large fruit tart tray. I also picked up two containers of mixed fruit from the produce section.

Pretty and Easy Display

I knew I wanted to display the food in a pretty way; we eat with our eyes first! I love using my gold rimmed serving pieces for such events and I knew a few of my friends probably had some similar platters. They so graciously let me borrow their gold rimmed platters and the variety of sizes and styles made for a beautiful display.

These platters and serving pieces are by brands Tamara Childs and Annie Glass.

Easy Centerpiece

I knew I wanted a centerpiece to add height and create a presence on the buffet table. It doesn’t get any easier than sticking a fern in a vintage planter. Brought the fern from my porch and the planter from home.

Easy Serving

Here’s an entertaining tip. Rather than rectangular tables for serving, I used one large round table. There were about 150 people here and I knew there would be much socializing going on and this buffet was light bites, not a full meal. Setting it up on a round table actually keeps guests moving more efficiently; just be sure to set several “starting points.” I divided the plates, napkins, and forks onto four areas rather than just one starting point. This is what keeps it moving!

Blush and Gold for a Bible Study Breakfast

For a feminine touch to this ladies bible study, I turned to Sophistiplate paper products. The blush bouquet appetizer bowls were the perfect size. Ya’ll know I love these because they are shallow bowl; it’s so much easier to eat because you can scoop food. Read more about Sophistiplate for my Easter table.

I also laid the forks out as you would if you were hosting a shower at your home. It just maid it feel a little more special and the pretty gold forks add to the display. I bought the gold forks on Amazon and I also got fun gold stir sticks for the coffee but I forgot to take a photo! I will next time!
