I also like to use them as cute shades over ambient lighting. I slipped a fresh one on top of my mini re-chargeable lamps (more about mini lamps here) and I love this look! You can also leave the vase wraps on the table and lay a puck light inside. Using both will create a dreamy tablescape outside when the weather warms up!
